Why You Must Know Your Organisation’s Transformation Capability

In today’s climate of relentless change, the difference between digital transformation success and expensive failure comes down to one thing: capability. Not vision. Not ambition. Not technology. Capability.

That’s why we use the Digital Maturity Index (DMI)—a scientifically and academically validated framework based on Unitary Development Theory (UDT)—as the diagnostic heart of our Transformation-driven Organisation Development (TdOD) approach.

The DMI is not just another digital checklist. It maps how well your organisation is actually equipped to realise digital value, create adaptive systems, and sustain transformation momentum over time.

It’s multi-tiered, starting at the organisational level, then diving into six Core Capabilities (Dynamics)—each representing a critical domain of digital transformation. And each Core Capability contains a set of Building Block Capabilities (Constructs) that show you, in clear detail, where growth is possible—and where it’s essential. Each of these will be explained in subsequent posts.

You cannot lead digital transformation from guesswork. You must understand with a good level of certainty, the level at which your organisation is currently operating, because:

An organisation cannot operate at a level higher than its current capability.

Ready to understand your organisation’s capability to transform—and what’s holding it back?
