Measuring Productivity Is Less Important Than Managing It

This article from Gallup so so interesting.  Employee Engagement is not a statistic, its a measure of the effectiveness of a manager – how well they engage their team, which leads to improved productivity.

And the thing is “time at the computer”, and other futile attempts at measuring productivity actually create disengagement – which lowers productivity.

So, our managers need to learn how to better manage productivity rather than worry about measuring it?
