Having been in IT for MANY years, it never ceases to amaze me, when new technologies are introduced, the leaning is to automate a manual practise, rather than innovate something new and different made possible by the new technology.
This has become so apparent in the Remote Worker environment. Managers are trying to use new technology to manage the “old” way instead of learning and adopting new ways of working and new ways of managing.
