Team Maturity Index (TMI)

Team Maturity Index (TMI) is an assessment used to understand the alignment of teams with the objectives, actions, and culture of the organisation.

Using the Team Maturity Index you will be able to improve organisational performance by:

  • Understanding the alignment of team and team member objectives, actions and behaviours with those of the Organisation
  • Identifying constraints of team performance on organisation performance (value chain), team performance (process), and individual performance (practice)
  • Measuring the Critical Team Capabilities required to achieve team Objectives and Key Results
  • Putting in place team development that can move the team towards higher levels of performance.

TMI is a Reference Model that describes how teams function and perform at a specific level based on Dynamic Systems Maturity Theory (DSMT – see below).  It identifies the critical Organisation, Team, and Individual Capabilities and their Maturity levels and provides a roadmap for development through the 7 levels of maturity.

The structure of the TMI assessment is:

Each of these elements is assessed to establish the level of capability that exists for that element within the organisation, team and individual team members.
